Hello everyone! I have been pretty pretty much inactive for some time now so just wanted to say sorry and that I'll try to do better :) Haven't been drawing anything for quite a while now and that is not good at all, one of the reasons is a pretty much well aged computer so I don't have the nerves to install photoshop on it because not sure if I could. Anyways I'll try to update some DSLR photos for your deviant eyes!!!! Stay well and have Fun!!!

Hi everyone !
Haven't updated the journal for a long time ! I'm sorry for not being too much active in recent times and I really miss drawing something new. Been wanting to draw a new space piece, better than my last piece - Black Hole Sun, that's really going very very well, it has over 6000 views and 4000 downloads ! And all thanks to you :) SO Thank you very much to everyone ! In recent times I've been a bit around the world. Been for a couple of months in New York (oh my god do I love that city) and all I did there was photography. As I said in my previous journals I bought there the wonderful and almighy Goddess of Dawn, Canon Eos 5D Mark II with a real treat of a lens, the Tamron 28-75mm. This combination delighted me for almost a year and left me breathless on numerous occasions. Before I wanted to go with an aps-c camera but there is really no story between a Full Frame and aps-c camera. It's simply out of cropped sensor cameras league. I even used sometimes ISO 25,600 and it's viewable :) So for almost a year I've been assimilating my new camera and learning and growing with it. I'm really satisfied I went full frame and it's really great to know that you don't need to change the camera every couple of years, because this little workhorse is built to last and give excellent results long after it becomes obsolete. And about a month ago, I bought another lens, and because I adore landscapes and that is my calling, I had to buy a wide angle lens. So I did a lot of research and it all came down to sigma 12-24mm or canon 17-40mm. In the end I chose the Canon because it's more reliable and consistent, and because I heard a lot of complaints about almost every second or third sigma lens. And because I live in Europe I couldn't buy something in the States and keep my fingers crossed that it's gonna be sharp and good copy. So I chose reliability. Although I wouldn't really mind the extra wideness :) That would be so cool, to have an actual 12mm view ! but 17mm is also wide so I'll be glad with what I got. I have to say that the canon L is really something else. I adore my Tammy 28-75mm, the sharpness of that lens is unbeatable even by some L lenses, but the focusing and the construction of the Canon 17-40mm is something else. So I was really impressed with it. And to think it is even somewhat lighter that Tammy I was really knocked of my seat there. It really is a superb lens for on a budget type of people. So I recommend it big time ! The view is incredible ! I adore wide angle, but I still have some getting used to handling it and getting the right shot, because it really gets everything inside and distorts the angles, so u have to pay attention on what and how to frame the shot. I still haven't tried some cool tripod sunsets with it, but for that I think the lens was born, so there shouldn't be too much problems there in the field. Urban shots are really challenging......but tammy with a constant 2.8 f aperture is really unbeatable so I prefer it over the f4 canon all the way in the city.......oh well, it all depends what you wanna shoot in the end, doesn't it :)
I'll be posting my NYC pictures shortly on my Flickr page, so you're welcome to see them if u want. I hope to do a new space piece in the near future so hold on tight :)
That's it for now folks, happy holidays and happy New Year ! Hear ya !

Yeeeeeees !!!!
Finally........a 3 year agony has finally ended. My new camera has entered my life !!!
and what a cam it it :) none the less than Canon Eos 5D Mark II !!!!  I love it. It is the greatest cam ever. I didn't buy the kit because it costs much so I bought excellent Tamron 28-75 lens ! It really is that good as everybody says on the web :) it renders spectacular colours and the sharpness is brilliant even though it doesn't have IS.
I'm loving the 5D Mark II. It is something great indeed. The options a full frame camera offers are practically unlimited. there isn't a condition where you can't take a picture.
The camera itself is beautiful ! and it doesn't weight too much. It's perfect for me, although I have big hands so I think that for someone smaller it could be a prob, but don't hesitate to buy it, it is everything and even more you've heard about it ! I tried the video too and it is wonderful ! Full HD is spectacular and I adore the manual focusing. It really makes you look like a professional director :) I love it !
there really isn't much to say ! go and buy this cam. and this lens is also wonderful so I reccomend it over the much more expensive 24-105 L. 24-105 is surely a great lens but much bigger and heavier so it makes you look like a real pro in the city. watch out, sometimes it's better not to get into too many eyes. and the weight is considerable. What I prefer on the Tammy is a constant aperture of 2.8 ! for me that does it ! After I tried it and seen what it means I would never trade it for a 24-105 any more. I'm so glad I bought this one ! Trust me on this :) well that's about it ! go go and buy if u can :)
I spent all of my money on it and I'm happy I've done it because in the long run it will pay off and cost me a whole lot less than buying an aps-c first. I'll be posting my New York pictures soon here and on my page on flickr. I'll leave my flickr page down somewhere. Cheers to you all ! This is one of the best decisions I've made so far !!!

Hello again !
It's been a long time since the last update !  Well a lot of water has flown under the bridge and I thought to write a thing or two. Finally I changed my old notebook which was way way obsolete and opted after long and ponderous thinking for an iMac, of course I bought the most vicious one :)
I have to say that I'm really happy the way it works. Mac is really something, but (there is always a but) i sure miss some things from XP. I really can't say that macOS is perfect, thought it was, but it isn't, it's just another operating system with it's flaws.....but all in all there were so much things I liked, so we can say I'm quite happy with it :)  It's really working great and the 24' inch screen is something awesome.....I f....ed myself because from now on I'll never buy a monitor smaller than 24.....the way it reproduces colors and renders images......well it's simply stunning ! I guess not every monitor is like this, but the apple guys sure knew what they were doing with the monitor quality....
I'm a bad bad guy ! why ? because even though I have a new Power Machine I haven't done a scrap in Photoshop.....And I don't like that ! I really ought to draw a new space piece that could surpass my latest Black Hole Sun. I have some plans about a new space piece but really haven't got the time right now. I have to finish my exams and then, right after my birthday, feb 24th, I'm flying with my girlfriend to NY City. Yeah I can't wait ;)  now I should concentrate on my studying but all I do is thinking about the trip and the purchase (FINALLY) of my new, one and only, first and most special, DSLR !!!!  ooooooouuuu God I can't wait.....I was reading my last journal where I mentioned, something about a year ago maybe, that I was searching for a DSLR. My God, when I ponder now upon my last few years, I realize that the whole time I was searching for a perfect (for me) DSLR and I really really strangled everyone around me !!!
Enough !!! (as a fantasy warlord would say with a thunderous voice) I bow to u o Warlord of the Old, and I promise I won't torture my friends and family anymore !!! I think they r all sick when they see my lips moving in a direction that soon after pronounce the fatal word CAMERA :) I'm starting to bore myself too. So after 3 years, give or take, I am ready for the leap of faith !  from my previous journals u could see that I was all about Nikon, I still really like Nikon and couldn't say that I'm a Canon guy rather than Nikon (because I never used one of those) but some recent developments had made me change my mind and opt for Canon digital camera. I first wanted the Nikon d40, then d80 (but it was old already) and her successor the now known d90. In the meantime I wanted so bad the d300 which I thought great, but as months passed and finally a year the d300 was old and the d90 was better....but as always during these 3 years Nikon lacked something crucial....and stopped me from going all the way.....they r all great cams but I was ever searching for the holy grail. I know that is not the way it's done, you go and buy,  but I think about it in another way.....It's ok to - go, did, gone - when you buy something, but I'm spending some serious money here and I want to think it through. So Nikon didn't offer what I was searching (too bad, I really even now adore Nikon)  so I started looking the other way, the Canons way.....there I saw some 40d's, 50ies and then finally She Came out: The  Titanic  Goddess of the Dawn (EOS) and that was it.....love at first sight in every possible way except for the AF system......In a way I am really unhappy that Nikon couldn't deliver a Full Frame camera for Landscapers like Canon did even 3 years ago with it's first consumer friendly Full Frame 5D. Of course there is a D700 and it is a wonderful camera, surely much better in some aspects then the 5D, but for my purpose 5D is IT,one other thing that wouldn't let me change my mind was the weight of the D700 over the 5D Mark II - some 200 grams the difference, Alas too much. So I  seriously reconsidered all of my aspects and threw all of my previous theories in to the Recycle Bin (we have to take care of Mother Earth:) and started from scratch. When u buy a cam for u, you really should know what u want to do with it, but I really mean know what.....in terms of genre. My ultimate goal for my Soul is serious Landscape: after a lot of thinking and reading about APS-C sensors and all available cameras, and Full Frame cameras, the decision was: FF and 5D......
My luck is that probably here in Europe it will cost more than 3000 Euro, and in NY  it will cost 2700 USD, which is about 2000 Euro. just so u can imagine what I'm talking about read this: right now in Italy Nikon d300 with a lens comes more than 2000 euro :)  what is there to talk about ! I should spend the same amount of money for a camera that is more than a year old and that isn't in the same class as 5D. and with 5D u can really grow.....I won't surpass it after 2 or 3 years. and Full Frame capabilities offer a different view on the world of Photography :) and some much more Power Shooting Features.....
I just want to name one: clear ISO to almost 6400 :) so that is my choice after almost 3 years of searching.....I think it's a good choice, not optimal (as would be maybe, spending 14K USD on a Medium Format Mamiya DL28) but hey it's a rather good, I dare say excellent,  continuation of my Photography experience.....I think It's worth it's bang for the buck ! and investing slowly in the great canon L series Lens is an investment in the future.....I sure won't have to sell my gear to go to something "bigger" once. and surely this is not the type of camera that u have to change every 2,3 years to keep up. Hell even the old 5D is better than a lot of nowadays cams. So finally I chose The Goddess of Dawn incarnated in the newest Canon Eos 5D Mark II.
and I'm glad for it :)  Thanks for reading this and I'll keep u posted once I get back from NY with my new monster cam in March.  And hopefully you'll be able to see soon with your own eyes what this kitty can do ;)
cheers to everyone !

It has passed quite some time since my last update, so I think now would be a good time to say a couple of words !
I am very happy with reaching a 1000 page views and even more for scoring a 3000 views for my deviations ! Those are really cool numbers which I would never expect. I changed my somewhat only choice of doing pictures for deviant, and that is Photoshop of course, with adding some cool digital photography and photomanipulations...
Finally I got myself a brand new Canon A 710 IS so I think I'll be adding some digital stuff pretty soon. I am very very pleased with my new "baby" cause it's been giving me some really satisfying pictures. The only thing I can say is: "Canon is Canon" and there certainly exist some reason because almost every grand photographer has one of those. Well, enough of giving free commercial to Canon guys, like they need it, I am really happy of having the possibility to catch some extraordinary nature pieces !  And of course I'll never give up on my first love which can only be Photoshop !
I am having a thorough research of my mind, hoping to find a new and even better Space Picture that I could eventually put on my LCD and after that on deviant for your reviews.  Well, till then I greet you all and wish u all the best :)
